Malaga Province Counts 1100 New Coronavirus Cases
The number of new coronavirus cases in Malaga Province continues to increase. In the last 24 hours there have been 1,114 new cases recorded. This brings the total number of cases in the province since the beginning of the pandemic to 116,910. Three deaths have been recorded in Andalucia in the last 24 hours, two of those were in Malaga Province.
Malaga Province Incidence Rate Rising
The 14 day accumulated incidence has also risen again in Malaga Province. Today it stands at 543.1 cases per 100,000 people, which is considerably higher than the regional rate for the whole of Andalucia. That number is now 334.6 cases per 100,000 people.
Due to the rising coronavirus numbers, last week the regional government took the decision to keep Andalucia in phase one of the programme to reduce the restrictions. The Costa Del Sol health district has recently been moved to alert level two because of the high accumulated incidence rate.
