Man Arrested For Starting Six Costa Del Sol Fires This Summer
Guardia Civil have arrested a suspected arsonist who was living in a camper van near Malaga city. “Operation Moonwalker” was launched to find the person behind several wildfires this summer. The man was already being monitored as a suspect, when a fire was started near Mijas on Sunday 24th July. Police arrested him at his motorhome when he reportedly admitted to starting six fires. He has been remanded in custody following a court appearance.

The man is believed to be behind fires in Mijas, Ojen, Alhaurin De La Torre, and three fires near Alhaurin el Grande. Police have not yet revealed his identity.
