Marbella Man Addicted To Plastic Surgery

A Marbella man addicted to plastic surgery has now insured his own body for €1.1 million after a botched nose job cost €47,000 to fix. 32 year old Rodrigo Alves has taken out the insurance after his sixth rhinoplasty went wrong in Iran. When he returned home to Marbella, his septum collapsed and necrosis (a flash eating bacteria) took hold.

Alves has already had 43 surgical procedures to transform his look with many now comparing him to the famous plastic doll. In the last year, Rodrigo has spent €95,000 on twenty surgeries in America and Iran.

Bullied

Rodrigo Alves was born with a rare hormone dysfunction which impaired his muscle growth. He says of his childhood in Brazil “I was physically bullied, boys would push me down the stairs. When I was a kid I wanted to be beautiful and work as a flight attendant. I was born in the wrong body. I’ve been through psychological treatment and treated for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) in England and New York.” Rodrigo now works as a flight attendant. He lives in Marbella and London.

Insurance

The human Ken doll has now insured his look for €1.1 million Euros. He says “I’ve spent nearly €350,000 on procedures over the past 11 years and I needed some insurance. I pay a monthly premium and from now on, if anything goes wrong I can get it fixed. if I’d been covered it would have paid for my last operation. It makes sense really, it’s a bit like having comprehensive cover with your car insurance.”

Rodrigo Alves had his first cosmetic surgery in 2004, after feeling too unattractive to fit in with the fashionable friends he had made while studying in London. After the first surgery, he has had to have more procedures in order to correct problems.

He said “After having so many nose jobs and wearing sunglasses, the bridge of my nose was crooked. I did my research and found Iran is number one for rhinoplasty. The surgeon created the nose of my dreams. In my dreams I looked like a prince with a beautiful nose and head of hair. But when I looked in the mirror, I was fat.”

“It was never my intention to look like a doll. I know I’m not the most good looking man but I stand out because I’m artificially made.”
