Police Confirm No Mass Exodus From Cities In Spain
There has been concern and fear this week after it was reported that thousands of people from Spain’s big cities were heading to their second homes on the Costa Del Sol for Easter Week. The Guardia Civil have confirmed there has been no mass exodus from the big cities, and traffic levels have remained similar to previous weeks during the lockdown.
Videos and pictures have been shared which show huge traffic jams at police checkpoints, claiming that these are people trying to reach southern Spain for the Easter holiday. Nationally there are over 10,000 Guardia Civil checkpoints, all of which are reporting normal traffic movements under lockdown conditions.
