Reservoir Levels Rising After Recent Rainfall

Water levels at the reservoirs which supply Malaga Province and the Costa Del Sol have been boosted by recent heavy rain.  The DANA has helped to replenish water supplies which have been dangerously low at times this year.

The reservoir which supplies most of the Costa Del Sol has almost three times the amount of water it had this time last year.  La Concepcion water levels are now at a reassuring 61.2%.of capacity.  The Embalse Conde De Guadalhorce which supplies Malaga city has increased to 43.9%, in March this year the level was just 24.2% of capacity.

La Vinuela reservoir supplies water to 14 towns and 220,000 people in the Axarquia area.  In March this year the reservoir levels were at 9.7% of capacity.  Today the amount of water is more than double that figure, at 21.8 of capacity.
