Vulture Rescued From Mijas Pueblo. A confused and disorientated Griffon Vulture has been rescued from Mijas Pueblo and released into the wild.
Vulture Rescued From Mijas Pueblo
A Griffon Vulture has been rescued from a busy street in Mijas Pueblo. On Saturday the bird was seen by locals looking disorientated and distressed in the street. Local police along with specialists from a sanctuary were able to rescue the vulture and take it to a facility for observation. The vulture is healthy and unharmed, and has now been released back into the wild.
The Eurasion Griffon Vulture
The Eurasian Griffon Vulture is a majestic bird of prey known for its impressive size and distinctive appearance. With a wingspan of up to 2.8 meters (9 feet), it’s one of the largest birds of prey in Europe. It has a distinctive white head and neck, a brown body, and a powerful hooked beak.
Griffon vultures are highly social, often forming large colonies with hundreds of individuals. They typically live in cliffs and rocky areas. They can live for over 30 years in the wild.
