Wednesday Weather Warning For Heat

Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow weather warning for high temperatures. The warning comes into effect at midday on Wednesday, and will last until 8pm. Temperatures are expected to reach 40c on the Costa Del Sol, and could rise higher than this in some inland areas.

Emergency services are on standby to deal with fires caused by the high temperatures.

With the high temperatures comes an increased risk of fires which have been known to devastate areas of the Costa Del Sol in the last. There is also an increased risk to animals, as pet owners are being reminded to provide shade and water for their animals.

Types Of Weather Warnings

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
