No British Booth At The Fuengirola Feria – the International People’s Feria begins tomorrow, with no British presence for the first time in years
No British Booth At The Fuengirola Feria
There are thought to be people from 130 different nationalities living within the Fuengirola area. 30 of those will be represented at this year’s International People’s Feria. The event is running from the 27th April to the 1st of May.
Within the Feria ground, each of the casetas is occupied by a different country which offers food, drink, music and entertainment in keeping with it’s national traditions. For the first time in many years there will be no British caseta, and no Scandinavian representation. Local British man Andy Proctor says “I’ve been coming to the Feria for years and always enjoy seeing the different cultures. Last year we ate fish n chips and felt like a little piece of England was with us here in Spain, before making our way around some of the other areas. We will feel like we are being left out this year”. We have not been offered an official explanation for the lack of British and Scandinavian areas this year.
Countries which will be represented at the Feria this year are: Australia, Argentina, Andalusia, Asturias, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Cuba, Canary Islands, Castile and Leon, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Italy, Ireland, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Paraguay, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, United States, and Venezuela.
