British Athlete Dies During Costa Del Sol Event
A British woman has passed away after suffering a heart attack whilst taking part in the Ironman event on the Costa Del Sol. The unnamed woman was one of 2500 triathletes who were competing in the gruelling event.
She suffered a cardiac arrest during the swimming stage and was rushed to hospital, where she died on Monday morning.
Ironman Marbella
The Ironman event begins with a 1900 metre swim in the ocean, followed by a 90 kilometre bike ride, concluding with a 21 kilometre run to the finish line in Puerto Banus.
