Firefighters Bring Casares Blaze Under Control.  81 specialist firefighters worked through the night to bring a blaze near Casares under control.

Firefighters Bring Casares Blaze Under Control

A fire broke out yesterday near Casares at 7.30pm,  This morning the blaze was declared “under control”.  81 specialist Infoca firefighters joined local fire crews to work through the night to bring the blaze under control.  Air support was provided by two helicopters which dropped water onto the fire.

At 7.36am today the blaze was stabilized and most of the crews withdrawn.  16 firefighters remain on the scene damping down the area.  No injuries have been reported.
