Costa Del Sol Hotel Stays Reach Record Levels
Tourism is booming here on the Costa Del Sol, as figures released today show that overnight hotel stays in the first six months of the year have surpassed 10 million for the first time ever. Figures are up 4.2% on 2025, showing that 10.3 million hotel bookings were made. A rise in domestic tourism has been the main contributing factor to the record breaking numbers. 6.7% more Spanish citizens reserved hotel rooms this year compared to 2025.
British tourists continue to be the biggest contributers to hotel bookings in the Malaga area. 546,723 Brits booked overnight hotel stays in the first six months of this year.
The Costa Del Sol continues to be the second most popular destination for travellers visiting Spain, whilst the Balearic Islands hold onto the top spot.
