Costa Del Sol Summer Weather Warning Issued – the national weather agency is warning of extremely high temperatures which pose a severe risk to health and an increased danger of fire

Costa Del Sol Summer Weather Warning Issued

Red weather warnings have been issued for the Seville and Cordoba areas, and amber warnings for the Costa Del Sol.  Delia Gutiérrez from AEMET said, “This heatwave is worse than expected.  The red alert is reached when temperatures are around 10% higher than the maximums seen in that location.”

The hot weather can pose a health risk for the elderly and pregnant women.  Health organisations are advising everyone to drink plenty of water and avoid alcoholic drinks during the daytime.  The fire service are also on high alert for wild fires during this period of extreme heat.
