Burst Sewage Pipe Affecting Beach Users In Benalmadena

A stretch of coastline between Playa Arroyo de la Miel and Playa Malapesquera has been closed to bathers by Benalmadena town hall.  Red flags are flying and lifeguards are warning beach users of potentially unsafe conditions caused by a burst sewage pipe.

The burst pipe, which falls under Acosol’s jurisdiction, is around 200 metres away from the bathing areas. The strong winds and westerly currents are increasing the risk of the sewage reaching the popular beaches.  Work is now underway to repair the pipe.
