Gale Force Wind Warning.  Gale force 7 winds are expected to hit the Costa Del Sol today as AEMET issue a yellow weather warning.

A yellow weather warning is in place for the Costa Del Sol today.  The yellow alert is for gale force 7 winds which could reach speeds of 70km/h.  The warning was activated at lunchtime and remains in place until 10pm this evening.  Waves are expected to reach 3 metres.

Despite the force 7 wind there is no rain forecast today, however thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday (3rd May) and Wednesday (4th May).

Amber: Be prepared. There is an increased likelihood of bad weather affecting people in the concerned area, which could potentially disrupt people’s plans and possibly cause travel delays, road and rail closures, interruption to power and the potential risk to life and property.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
