Huge Costa Del Sol Snake Captured
Local police have caught an enormous three metre long python which had been spotted by a terrified member of the public. The gigantic molurus python (also known as Indian Python) was captured as it hid in bushes on the Olias to Colmenar road in the Montes de Malaga. Specialist equipment was used to catch the creature, which has been transferred to the municipal animal welfare centre. Experts at the centre are saying that the snake is unharmed and in good health.

The molurus python can grow to six metres in length.
Abandoned Exotic Pet
The captured snake is likely to be an abandoned pet. Malaga Police have warned of the dangers of dumping exotic pets in the wild, where they could pose a threat to wildlife and people. Anyone caught abandoning an exotic pet faces a €300,000 fine and a possible prison sentence. A police spokesperson advised owners who feel unable to care for their pet to contact the municipal animal welfare centre for help rehoming the animal.
