Main Ronda Road Closed Until August
The main road which connects Ronda with the Costa Del Sol has been badly damaged by a landslide, and will not be reopened until August at the earliest. The A-397 is completely blocked and repairs are expected to take at least six months. The regional government are saying that by August there may be one lane open, with traffic lights to control the flow of vehicles. The landslide happened on Saturday 8th March, with boulders completely blocking the road and damaging the bridge at Los Madronos.

Work to repair the road could take as long as six months.
Alternative routes from San Pedro to Ronda are via Coin and Ardales, or via Gaucin and Manilva. These routes take almost twice as long though, with journey times taking roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes.
