Sunday Storm Warning For The Costa Del Sol

A yellow weather warning has been issued for the Costa Del Sol.  Thunderstorms with strong winds and torrential rain are expected to arrive at midnight on Saturday and last until 3pm on Sunday (3rd September).   Spain’s national weather agency AEMET are predicting accumlated rainfall of 25mm per hour during this period.

Cala Mijas Festival Weather

The rain will be welcome in Andalucia, where water levels in reservoirs have hit record lows this year, though revellers at Cala Mijas Festival could be in for a muddy experience.  Florence And The Machine are due to begin their headline set at 11.25pm on Saturday night, followed by The Blaze at 2.30am on Sunday morning.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
