A yellow weather warning for torrential rain is in place until midnight tonight (Thursday 20th March) on the Costa Del Sol. Spain’s national weather agency AEMET is predicting accumulated rainfall of 20mm an hour during this warning period. Thunderstorms and strong winds are also expected. Yellow is the least severe of the three warning levels.

This latest weather warning follows two weeks of severe weather on the Costa Del Sol, which has seen the area battered by gale force winds, torrential rain, flooding, and even a tornado warning!

Red: Take action. Extreme weather is expected. Red means people in the concerned areas should take action now to keep themselves and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely.
