Andalucia Changes Restriction Review Process
The Regional President of Andalucia has announced that the model for reviewing and applying restrictions to combat coronavirus is being changed. Assessment of municipalities exceeding the (accumulated) 500 cases and 1000 cases of covid-19 per 100,000 people thresholds will now take place once a week, on Thursdays. The measures announced after this review will come into force at midnight on Saturday (into Sunday morning).
Restrictions placed on municipalities will now remain in place for 7 days, instead of the 14 days previously enforced. Municipalities with an accumulated incidence rate of more than 500 cases per 100,000 people must close their borders. Municipalities with an accumulated incidence rate higher than 1000 cases per 100,000 people must close all non-essential businesses as well as the municipal borders. The accumulated incidence rate will now be measured over 7 days, instead of 14.
Incidence Rate In Andalucia
Andalucia currently has in incidence rate of 726.8 cases per 100,000 people. This has fallen from a peak of 952.2 cases which was recorded on the 2nd February.
