Following two successful years, the Cala Mijas Festival won’t be going ahead this year.  The major music event was headlined by Liam Gallagher in 2022 and Florence & The Machine in 2023 has been cancelled following a series of disagreements between the organisers and local authorities.

The event promoter Last Tour says that there have been “repeated and serious breaches” in the sponsorship contract with the council.  However the town hall has hit back saying that it was Last Tour who breached various agreements. Most of the issues revolve around unpaid invoices and large sums of money which both sides claim are owed.

Contractual Disagreements

There have also been disagreements over facilities provided at the festival site, which is owned by the council.  The council also say that Last Tour were contractually obliged to announce the line up for 2024 at the end of last year’s event, which did not happen.

Those who have already purchased tickets can now apply for refunds from the point of purchase.
