On Sunday evening at 19.55 the rumbling of an earthquake was felt in Fuengirola here on the Costa Del Sol. The quake measured an average magnitude of 4, with a peak of 4.7 on the scale. It’s epicentre was recorded at a depth of 61km just off the coast of the town. The event lasted for 1 minute and 37 seconds.
The event went largely unnoticed by many people in the town, and no damage or injuries have been reported. Joanne Windermere said “I heard something and thought it was a cat on the conservatory roof or something. Then we heard later there’d been a small quake. It wasn’t very dramatic.”
