New Inquiry Into Costa Del Sol Pool Deaths
A judge in Spain has given the green light to a fresh inquiry into the deaths of three family members in a swimming pool at Club La Costa World. The Diya family have launched their own investigation, having said that the original findings were questionable. Initially a police probe claimed that 52 year old Gabriel, 16 year old Emmanuel, and 9 year old Comfort drowned because of poor swimming ability.
Pumps And Filtration System Tested
Under the supervision of the Diya family’s lawyer, Javier Toro, an engineer and a diver have re-examined the pool where the tragedy occurred. They have used pieced of material and a swimming cap similar to the one worn by Comfort to test the suction of the filtration system.
The investigators have been given access to all the pool’s pumping and filtration systems, and provided with CCTV footage. They also have access to all the other pools on the complex. The team will be examining the pools to find out if the “vortex” phenomenon could have contributed to the deaths.
