Bank Holidays In Andalucia 2025

In Andalucia there are twelve public holidays in 2025.   If the holiday falls on a Sunday, it is usually moved to the following Monday. Whilst these days are still celebrated on the Sunday, the Monday will be a working holiday with most shops, banks and many businesses staying closed.

The public and bank holidays in Andalucia for 2025 are:

  • New Year’s Day Holiday
    Wednesday, January 1st.
  • Three Kings Day
Monday, January 6th. Three Kings Day is perhaps a bigger event than Christmas on the Costa Del Sol, as families celebrate the arrival of the three kings by giving gifts and attending local events.
  • Andalucia Day
Friday, February 28th.  Andalucia Day. A regional bank holiday commemorating the 1980 referendum.
  • Maundy Thursday
Thursday, April 17th.  Maundy Thursday, the Thursday before Easter, observed in commemoration of Jesus Christ’s institution of the Eucharist during the Last Supper.

Friday, August 15th.  Assumption of Mary, or simply “Assumption Day”, is a0 public holiday in Spain and a major religious festival across the country.
  • National Holiday of Spain
Sunday, October 12th.  La Fiesta Nacional de España commemorates the discovery of the Americas by Christopher Columbus for Spain on 12 October 1492, as a key point for the Spain’s overseas projection and legacy to the world.  Monday 13th October will be a holiday as the celebration falls on a Sunday this year.
  • All Saints Day
Saturday, November 1st.  All Saints Day in Spain (Todos Los Santos) is a very important national public holiday when people from all over the country return to their town or village to lay flowers on the graves of deceased relatives
  • Constitution Day
Saturday, December 6th.  Constitution Day (Día de la Constitución) marks the anniversary of a referendum held on 6 December, 1978 when a new constitution was approved.
  • Immaculate Conception Day
Monday, December 8th.  The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, or the Dia de la Inmaculada Concepcion, as it is known in Spain, is a feast of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Christmas Day
Thursday, December 25th. Christmas Day shouldn’t need too much of a description – prezzies, booze, kids, hangovers… oh, and Jesus’ birthday.

The confirmation of the national bank holidays are published in the Boletin Oficial del Estado (BOE) and the regional holiday in the Boletin Oficial de la Junta de Andalucia (BOJA).
